When I was a kid there was a time when I wanted a doll, but, of course I never really got one. Oh well, we had one game that is even more fun, called "Voinushka" which, as close as it can be translated means something like "little war" and consistes of running around with toy weapons shooting at each other, sometime in teams. It is very entertaining at that age and allows for some creativity, like ambushed, backstabbings (if with teams) and other fun stuff, I feel sorry for the North American kids who seem to be deprived from such wholesome games by the damn hippies who seem to running the place these days... That's why they all play violent vieo games, it's the only place where tey don't have some adult lording over them telling them to play nice and politically correct. Still, would've been nice to have that doll.

Failing that I figure why not make one in flash, it seems easy enough... Of course I never learned flash and only installed it in January and read a few on-line tutorials, so if it seems sloppy or amaturish, well, that's why... Also, I really hate the vector editor that comes with the flash itself, I now know why some flash games have wierdly shaped charas and such, so I paste everything from Corel instead, but I can't paste transparencies, so I have to do them in flash and it's such a pain in the ass because you have to F8 an object and make it into a symbol before it can be transparent... But otherwise it seems easy and relatively intuitive.

Hello! I know this may sound weird and all, but after reading Rinmaru's journal about what game inspired her to create her own dress ups. I thought back and remembered this game, It was the the first game I'd ever played on DA of its kind and the reason I wanted to learn flash. So thank you very much for making such a lovely game :)

For those it doesn't work for, try right clicking on it and selecting "forward" from the menu. I did that and then it played fine. (I just saw it in the comments for a different doll, lol.)

Love your art style, and its ridiculously refreshing to have a an attractive and non-slutty doll ;)

Ah yes, in the newer ones I made it go to the next scene automatically, instead of that button, and it seems to work fine for everyone, at least I didn't see similar complaints

Ya, Brad said that was all it needed. I just mentioned it in the comments so that some of your less patient comment leavers might see it and give it another chance ;)

We actually checked out your page because DollDivine recommended it to us. We have a doll builder site and live in greater Vancouver, lol.

You really do have a lovely style of work, I really enjoyed looking through your DA.

Ya, lol. We were wondering how many people who do this kind of stuff actually live around here. Might be fun to do a get together some day :)

Do you plan to do more makers? It would be sweet to see one with some of the cool poses you put your regular characters into. I'd play with it :p

Our makers do have a lot of options now... and the new version has more and is quicker and easier to use. It will be up in a few weeks... though I don't know how long it will take me to put it on DA. My early makers where regular dress up games, but the kids on our website had so many requests and stuff. They kept me wanting to improve it. (Our newest ones have the rotation/scaling control around the piece itself, primary and secondary colours per piece, and you can add different patterns. Should be pretty fun.)

I probably will make another dress up some day, but they take me a long time to make, because I like to add a lot of different clothes so that there is a lot of mixing and matching. One thing that I want to do is the ability to change colours of clothes (but I still need to figure out a good way that would be simple from the interface stand point and efficient from my end)

Ya, colouring changing was a bit of a problem for us, and it go more complicated when we added the pattern layer as well. From the artistic standpoint, its also more difficult to design draw. The best way of dealing with it is to draw a shading layer with a colour clip below it, but getting nice shading that will work on any colour is nearly impossible. You can always ask Booradley if he has any advice though (he does all our coding, lol... I just ask for what I want).

I know what you mean about the long time though. My newest maker has taken me forever, the kids wanted an animal maker with "realistic" pieces... gah. I have been working on it on and off since the summer. The silly thing has over 400 hundred pieces. And drawing that level of detail in flash is very very difficult, its just not designed for it. Still, I think the stuff they make with it will be amazing :)

Yeah, shading was on of the concerns, obviously light coloured things need more transparent shadow. I was thinking of converting the colour to HSB, or just getting the B component and the basing the brightness on that but I haven't tested it so I don't know if it'll work well. It is one of the things that might such me into making another one ^^
